‘A fashionable full dress & a fashionable morning riding dress for Dec.r 180[?]’
London, about 1801–9
The artfully arranged hairstyles in this print show the influence of the Prince of Wales, whose flamboyant dress and manners helped shape the fashions of the day. Known as the ‘Titus’ style, this coiffure imitated the flattened curls of the Roman emperor Titus.
