Bookplate of Alfred Harmsworth (later Viscount Northcliffe), inscribed with the initials and date 'Inv. W.P.B. 1903'. It is written in pencil 'designed and engraved by John a.b. Harrison'. A riverside scene is depicted with books in the foreground. One of the books is open and reads 'The Complete Angler by Izaak Walton'. The frame is made up of images of reeds and fish and a winged wheel is the central motif at the top of the plate.
