Object history | Greta Hall is best known as the former home of the Lake poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Robert Southey. Southey (poet laureate 1813 - 1843), lived there for 40 years, and the house was visited by many leading literary personalities, including the Wordsworths, Shelley, and Sir Walter Scott. |
