Object history
This drawing shows that Sir Timothy died 21 September 1708, and his wife Elizabeth died 10 January 1708. In a book by Thomas Faulkner, The History and Antiquities of the Parish of Hammersmith (London, 1839), this memorial is described in detail, with Elizabeth's death date given as 19 January 1700-1 and Sir Timothy's as 12 September 1718 , although the respective ages given are the same.

Online genealogical records clarify Sir Timothy's dates as 1645-12 September 1708, and his wife's dates as 1672-19 January 1701, meaning that the drawing is misleading.

This monument was formerly on the upper part of the south wall of the chancel of St. Paul's Church, Hammersmith, until the church's demolition in 1882.
