Clear slightly mottled effect etched glass vase of squat baluster shape. Decorated with a band of gilding around the base and rim and three vertical panel strips of gilding with raised grecian motifs. The three clear glass panels inbetween are each painted with a flower; rose, poppy and anemone in red, green, yellow and purple/black. The base is cut with a star pattern.

| Gallery label | Jules Barbe was an independent decorator of French origin who worked exclusively for Webb's until 1901, afterwards working on his own account, and also for Stuart's. Only three signed pieces by him are known. The Jug and goblet with fish decoration shown on the same shelf are probably also designed and decorated by him (see label number 9286). |
