Invitation card to a banquet held in honour of the Emperor and Empress of France on 19th April 1855. Rectangular cream card with laurel leaves and wreaths festooning three blue and red interlaced monograms above the text of the invitation, printed in alternating rows of blue, green and red, below which is the crest and motto of the City of London. The whole is contained within a rectangular frame with geometric interlacing centre top, centre bottom and bottom corners, and stylized scrolling tendrils in upper corners.
