| Object history | The engraved Ace of Spades, the duty card, is printed from the same plate (with altered lettering) as the duty card of another pack in the collection, E.825-1937. That deck is signed "Bancks Brothers, Successors to Hunt & Sons" and, presumably, Goodall took over the copperplate from that firm. The Royal Arms depicted are Hanoverian, which was in use until the succession of Queen Victoria. |
