The design depicts a nearly nude full length male figure on a grey background, carrying a gold shield on his left arm and holding a sword in his right hand. The figure wears a white jock strap and a wide white belt decorated with gold patterns; articulated gold armour on his right arm; and a large gladiator's helmet on his head. A pair of white shin shields are worn on his shins, and a pair of gold sandals are worn on his feet.

Object history | This costume design by Anthony Holland was donated to the Theatre Museum by Patrick Lau after the death of the artist in 2001. The design complements a large collection of theatre designs given to the Theatre Museum by the artist in 1996. |
