Poster, signed 'F. Matania'.
'Blackpool'. Colour lithograph poster showing the promenade near the North Pier, with Blackpool Tower in the distance. Crowds of people are walking the path along the seafront, sitting on the stone benches or sunbathing on the beach. They include a young girl standing on the wall, with her right arm raised; she is wearing a mustard-yellow, thirties, two-piece swimming costume, with a yellow cape with double yellow pom-poms tied at the front.
Another girl wearing a purple and white two-piece swimsuit and purple cape is holding a red and blue beach ball on her lap. She is sitting next to a young man wearing a white shirt and grey slacks.
On the steps on the left is a woman wearing a one-piece green swimsuit, swimming cap and green and white floral cape, carrying a white handbag. Other people include men, women and children, all enjoying the sunny day, with a blue sky and white fluffy clouds along the horizon.
The Corporation of Blackpool crest is in the bottom-left corner and the London Midland & Scottish Railway crest is in the bottom right corner.
