This is one of a series of 20 educational sheets which illustrate the history of the world from its creation up to 1828, divided into 21 periods each separately numbered. This sheet covers the Eighteenth Period of history from the death of Charles V of Germany, A.D.1558 to the restoration of the Stuarts in England, A.D. 1660. The sheet is cream in colour printed with black type. The Eigtheenth Period contains 12 small rectangular hand coloured illustrations and eight which contain solely text. All have a piece of text above and beneath. The whole sheet is surrounded by a simple black and white frieze.
