Gallery label | In the decades following the original books, Shepard provided designs for new editions or compilations of them. These designs are for a re-issue of The Christopher Robin Story Book appearing in 1966.
Shepard progressed through a series of sketches. Annotations indicate the spine and position of the title. In the final design Shepard opened up the composition by removing trees and using opaque watercolours to flatten the colouring, making the cover more poster-like.
