Bolaffi, or Bolaffiarte, was an art magazine which commissioned just over 100 artists to design its cover from the 1960s to 1982. Joan Mirò, Henry Moore, Josef Beuys, Andy Warhol, Meret Oppenheim, Robert Rauschenberg, and many others were invited to produce an original work under a variety of set themes including alphabets, the seasons, Arabic numerals, the Seven Deadly Sins, the Five Senses, and the Signs of the Zodiac. Produced in an unlimited edition with a print to be given away with each copy of the magazine, the first 5000 copies were signed, numbered, and blind-stamped for new subscribers who were known as the "Club dei 5000".
