Brief description
Card table, walnut, English, 1690-1710, 45/233
Physical description
Card table, carved and turned black Italian walnut. Half oval leaf top lined inside with green baize. On the curved side are three short drawers with round knob handles, above a wavy edge. Four tapering legs (octagonal) connected by wavy stretchers. Everted toes. Open leaf supported by a pair of gates each with similar leg, with a straight flat stretcher, and a vase finial above the hinge. The handles are modern and one of the back legs have been restored.
