Bureau-cabinet of oak veneered with walnut. The upper portion is surmounted by a curved pediment supporting a carved and gilt eagle. Below the cornice are doors faced with mirror panels bevelled and curved at the top corners. The lower portion has a sloping front that lets down as a writing board lined with red leather. Below are four drawers with loop handles on openwork back plates. The bottom drawer has a concave lunette-shaped recess in the centre inlaid with a'sun-burst' in box and holly woods.
