Materials and techniques
Woven bamboo and possibly horsehair. Covered in thitsi lacquer paste.
Brief description
Burmese red lacquer and gilded woven bamboo bi-it (cosmetic box). Konbaung Dynasty (1752-1885). Decorated in relief with a variety of acheik patterns and the design of an open flower on the lid. 1878-1885.
