Keith Day Pearce Murray, a New Zealander trained as an architect. During the 1930 when architectural commissions were scarce he made designs for Steven & Williams glass (from 1932), Wedgwood ceramics (from 1932-3) and Mappin & Webbb silver (from 1934). He acknowledged his debt to Swedish glass engraving which he saw at the international exhibition held in Paris in 1925 and the Exhibition of Swedish Industrial Art (see 9524) held at Dorland House, London, 1931
