Anonymous design for fountain

Print

This is an anonymous sketch of a fountain drawn in pencil, ink and wash on paper. The fountain is composed of a wide octagonal base with a low fence and central feature decorated in sculptures of mythical animals. A wide circular basin lined with spouts just below its rim surmounts the central feature. A vase-shaped sculpture decorated in sculptures of griffins lies within the upper basin. Water shoots up and out of it vertically. Fainter pencil sketches allude to floral carving on the posts of the fence at the fountain's base.
