Object history
A design for a silver cup and cover. Plain body with rising handles based on a greek vase. On the side a crested shield. Beside the profile an end view of a handle. Below the tureen a foot scale. The heavily drawn pencil in this design is copied from plate 34 of C. H Tatham Designs for ornamental plate, 1806. The designer has suggested adding a straight sided base to the cup and has sketched on the back of the sheet a profile of this version. Designs 3276.3, 3276.4 and 3276.5 and 3276.6 are all by the same hand. Bought from the dealer Robert Jackson in 1876.
