Ritual vessel and lid, porcelain with moulded relief decoration under a deep blue glaze. Moulded after a style of an ancient bronze dou, in the form of a basin with almost straight sides angled below and supported on a high stem encircled by a broad rib and spreading wide at the foot; the stem is hollow. The glaze is glassy and of a purplish tone; rims are dressed with black. The lid is hemispherical with a handle in the form of two linked loops of cord. In moulded relief under the glaze are designs in archaistic style comprising 'mountain' and other designs on the foot, and rounded 'key-fret' borders and others on the basin and lid.
