Sword


Pair of Swords with fluted horn handles, in a wooden sheath covered with shagreen. The blades of the swords are of steel, and triangular in section; the handles are mounted with gilt brass guards and pommels, cast with dragons' heads and foliage. The sheath has a pierced mount at each end and three bands, all of gilt brass, cast in relief and engraved with foliage terminating in heads of animals. Chinese; 19th century.
