Vase. Cloisonné enamel on copper, with gilt brass rims. Chinese; Mark (in enamel) of the reign of Jingtai of the Ming dynasty (1449-1557).
Inverted pear-shape, expanding to the foot; short narrow neck with spreading mouth. Designs: on the shoulder, a red and yellow dragon on a ground of dark blue clouds; elsewhere, including the bottom, "Indian lotus" scrolls and ornament in various colours on a turquoise-blue ground.
