Pair of hair ornaments, gold filigree set with kingfisher feathers and diamond simulants that are colourless Rose cut pastes (glass) with a mirrored backing.
Narrow curved strips terminating in rings on both ends. The upper surfaces are decorated with raised filigree ornament of cicadas, flowers and phoenixes.
Each has two stamped marks on the underside: 'Da Xing zuo' [made by Da Xing] is the maker's mark; 'ba cheng jin' [80% gold] is probably the metal finess (purity) mark, which indicates the metal to be just above 18-carat gold (pure gold is 24-carat gold).
