Object history | This dress is a very good example of Collette Dinnigan's hand-crafted work, and shows fine embroidery and beading workmanship. It is likely inspired by flappers' dress of the mid 1920s and demonstrates Dinnigan's sense of historical accuracy, having started her career as a Costume Designer for television. The dress was shown during the V&A's Fashion in Motion series, 5 July 2000 |
Historical context | This is the V&A's first dress from Dinnigan, a leading Australian designer whose work was recently featured in Fashion in Motion of July 2000. |
