Figure of Lin Xiangru, First Minister of the Zhao State in 3rd century BC, holding a jade tablet. Porcelain with qingbai glaze. The figure stands on a rocky base holding in his two hands a rectangular plaque bearing the inscription incised: 'he shi bi'. He is a bearded and bewhiskered figure wearing a scholar's cap and with his head turned to the right and inclined slightly, his mouth opened to speak, and wearing a full-length robe with fur-trimmed hem, full sleeves and loose belt, also heavy shoes. Heavily potted porcelain, the base apparently solid and with a firing crack, the glaze having a strong greenish tint; the eyes have been pierced. On the back of the base is a stamped inscription in three columns: apparently reading: 'zhe chu long xi / wu lan ting zao / wu lan ting zao', partly obscured by the glaze.
