Cylindrical lacquer vessel with small bronze ring-handle at the side, and with a bronze three- legged stand. Inside red, outside brownish-black painted with red and brown decoration consisting of stylised birds amid highly formalised ornament composed of dots and fine lines. The lacquer has shrunk and is now much distorted and wrinkled.

Object history
Purchased with W.33-1950 from the Funds of the Gulland Bequest. This piece and W.33-1950 were inspected and stabilised at the British Museum by Dr. Plenferleith's staff in 1951.
