Vase in dense ivory-white porcelain covered in a semi-opaque glaze possessing an iron-stained crackle. In the form ofnelumbium (lotus) seed head resting on a curled leaf. Cup-shaped capsule pierced in the top with seven holes; its nine fluted stem is supported on three projections, respectively modelled in the shape of a minute sead-head, a bud and a leaf. The stand is carved wood, oblong, in the form of entwining lotus plants. Probably a brush-holder (Pi-yen hu).
