Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Incense burner of porcelain, covered with a qingbai glaze. With round globular body, tall neck everting to flattened mouthrim and three small feet. Two small square lug handles on the mouth. Abstract asymmetrical decoration on the body and feet. The body is granular white porcelain which has oxidised red in places, the glaze thick with a pronounced bluish tinge, which has run into a welt round the base and shows signs of having flowed over the firing support. Irregular oval firing rising marks visible on the base. The piece is carelessly fashioned, a piece of 'popular' ware.
