Circular box and cover of porcelain, the lower section with expanding sides and flanged lip; the cover of flattened dome shape. On the cover, in underglaze blue is painted a seated scholar instructing four young boys, with other boys playing round about. Around this are two decorative bands, one of dragons and cloud scrolls and the other of the Eight Precious Objects. These two friezes are repeated on the lower half of the box.

Physical description
Circular box and cover of porcelain, the lower section with expanding sides and flanged lip; the cover of flattened dome shape.
