Dish of porcelain, thickly potted with a correspondingly broad foot-ring, and has a narrow, flat rim with notched edge. Painted in underglaze cobalt blue with a small medallion containing a phoenix in the centre, a cell diaper pattern on the rim, and on the intervening surface a landscape design with pagodas, pavilions and figures. Fishing boats and distant mountains. On the base is a scorpion within a ring, and on the sides are jewels and ruyi heads.
