Sauceboat, porcelain, of English porcelain oval bowl shape with low fluted sides and foliated rim, projecting spout and simple high loop handle; low foot and glazed base. The arms of Cooke quartering Warren with Twysden in pretence. Painted in famille rose enamels and gilt framed cartouche on either side with port scenes of ships departing from Plymouth and arriving in Pearl River with a pagoda visible. Under the spout is a roccoco shield with the arms of Cooke of London, Paly of six gules and sable three eagles displayed argent, one and two, quartering Warren, Chequy or and azure, on a canton gules a lion rampant argent, with Twysden, Gyronny of four argent and gules a saltire between four crosses crosslet all interchanged. Crest of Cooke (correctly), A demi eagle per pale gules and sable with wings displayed and ducally crowned or. Surrounded by feathery foliage and flowers, and inside is the crest.
