Object history | Historical significance: Specially manufactured at Rangoon, in 1909, to furnish the royal tha-lun (reclining couch) (IS 37-1889) taken from the Palace at Mandalay in 1886. Given by Hallet G. Batten, Esq., Almora, 17 Woodvale, Forest-Hill, S.E. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Museum records (Asia Department registers and/or Central Inventory) as part of a 2023 provenance research project. RP 1910- 522 M |
Production | Manufactured to furnish the royal tha-lun (reclining couch) (IS 37-1889) that had been obtained from Mandalay Palace in 1886. |
