middle 18th century

Chairs, a pair, the legs incurved at foot and resting on an Oval base. The back forward with scrolled mouldings supported with similar openwork. Flat vermiliom lacquer, decorated with conventional flowers, foliage, scrolls and key pattern. The centre panel of the back having a bell, bats and cloud pattern in dark dive green, purple, red and black, lined with gold. The legs with key pattern and flowers in gold.
