Materials and techniques
Thitsi lacquered bamboo basket work. Patterns formed in the relief moulded thayo and glass inlay hman-zi shwei-cha technique.
Brief description
Burmese bamboo and gilded lacquer hsun-ok (offering vessel). Konbaung Dynasty (1752-1885). Decorated with peacocks and to-naya amidst floral and foliate patterns in the thayo, hman-zi shwei-cha medium. ca.early 19th century.

Object history
Historical significance: Used for the ritual of carrying offerings to the monastery or for displaying offerings by the side of a Buddha image.

Nobles at the Court of Mindon Min (1853-78) used similar vessels during prolonged audiences in which case it would have been described as a pwe-daw-ok.
