Purse of brocaded silk woven in coloured silks and gilt-paper thread. The front is embroidered with gilt-paper thread and coloured silks. The pattern on the brocade consists of conventional flowers and foliage. The pattern on the front consists of a carp, near a basket, among waves, which is worked in blue and white silk. The purse is held by knotted red silk cords.

Given by Count Mutsu, accessioned in 1910. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Asia Department registers, as part of a 2022 provenance research project.
The charm-bag (omamori bukuro) is intended to contain a religious amulet. The amulet, generally a small folded paper is fastened to the sash.
