Collar (Neckwear)

19th century (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Collars such as this one would have been worn as part of a woman's formal dress, during a formal occasion. On each of the panels are embroidered floral patterns and the figure of a lady. Such collars are sometimes nicknamed a 'cloud collar'; in this case this is an apt description as each panel of the collar is formed in the shape of a ruyi cloud.
