Panel of embroidered red silk with coloured silk, silver-gilt and metal threads in satin stitch and couching. The background is entirely covered by couched threads. Long vertical panel with, at the top, a crane flying amongst clouds, and below, a medallion containing a five-clawed front facing dragon encircling a flaming jewel. The next has a design of formal flowers with the wheel of the law and the endless knot. At the bottom are two small dragons and a flaming jewel above earth mountain and waves. Colours are mainly blues, reds, gold and white.
The panel has two narrow bands of silk in two shades of buff all around it, and a border of grey silk woven with a pattern of flower and fret pattern medallions on a background of fret pattern. Lined with pale blue silk woven with a small repeating formal motif.
