Doll wearing a robe, standing on a base, and represents a dancing girl. The outer robe with its long sleeves is of printed blue-crêpe with a design of peonies and other flowers. It bears in five places a cherry-blossom as 'mon', and is lined with red and gold silk woven in a pattern of pine-needles. The embroidered chemise is shown at the neck and the petticoat is of red-crêpe. The doll wears socks of white silk but no sandals. The under-sash is of red-crêpe whilst the outer sash (obi) is of a rich scarlet brocade woven with a floral pattern, and it is tied in a bow with long ends at the back which is kept in place by a red cord with a dragon buckle. The dolls hair is in a butterfly style and is decorated with a horn pin with a carnelian head, one with white metal pin with peonies, and a red-crêpe bow and artificial flowers. In her left hand she holds a branch of cherry blossom.

The doll stands on an oblong base covered with red silk. It has a stamp impressed beneath.

Physical description
