Pair of shoes for a Han man. The uppers are made of black satin-weave silk. The shoes are lined with white cotton, with black rubber piping at the front to reinforce the shape. Their 1.8 cm-think soles may have been made of layers of felted paper and leather stitched together at the bottom, and whitened around the edges.
