Gallery label | The design of this cover shows five boys in a paradise setting variously carrying a sheng (a reed mouth organ), a golden crown and sceptre, round castanets, a musical stone, a food box, and pine and lotus branches. They are supported by other motifs which collectively suggest wishes for the birth of successful sons. This motif was commonly used on wedding presents. |
