Large jar of squat, round form with straight neck, in imitation of a Jun ware shape. The very good streaked, red and purple flambe glaze has run thin round the neck, and has dribbled a little inside. From the neck downwards inside, the jar is plain white with a transparent glaze. The flame glaze has been trimmed around the footring. The base has a pale, yellowish-brown glaze, again in imitation of Jun ware. On the base is inscribed beneath the glaze: 'Zhongguo Jingdezhen shi yi jiu si wu nian' (made in the city of Jingdezhen in China in 1945).
