Figure of Bodhidharma, glazed white porcelain. Modelling is delicate, walls relatively thin. The monk is seated with right knee raised, holding a wooden stave with his right hand, resting against his knee. Suspended on his back is a large straw hat with conical top, such as was worn by peasants in China.
