Lidded jar, consists of a full rounded form, with an upright mouth over which fits a round, slightly domed lid; shallowly recessed base. Glaze coverage complete on all surfaces except for footrim and exterior of mouth; on lid complete on exterior and inside of domed top; friezes executed in underglaze blue and overglaze gold around shoulder of jar and side of lid; body of jar and top of lid decorated with a pine bark ground in underglaze blue, the plum and bamboo motifs being resisted against this in white and subsequently outlined in overglaze gold, overglaze red being used to highlight the pistils of the plum blossoms.
