Part of hand-drawn mordant-dyed and indigo-painted cotton (chintz) hanging, for the European market. With a vermicelli patterned tree stemming from a large pedestal vase, and a symmetrical arrangement of flowering branches, floral sprays and garlands, and birds and insects. Lotus plants at base. Worked in a range of shades of red, blue and purple. Parts of the design were probably green, though the yellow has faded.
