Place of origin

Fragment of hand-painted and resist-dyed cotton (chintz). Remnant from a length of piece-goods (yardage). Each spray consists of a bouquet of several different flower, including two pinks or carnations and possibly a Persian flower. The sprays occur in staggered rows, with a small repeating "island", having four tufts of leaves or grass, with a flower and leaf spray in the centre, in the intervals.
