Hanging of painted and dyed cotton chintz. Composed for a pair of hangings. The design consists of two serpentine trees poised above a vase. The vase has a rim drawn as a flat oval. The trees have large flowers. A parakeet perches on the lowest branch. The vases stand between low, peaked, scaled mounds on which grow miniature banana trees. The border, attached to the sides and bottom, has a matching design. The panel is composed of two widths of cotton joined after painting.
