Plaque

Hanuman round pectoral plaque is set within a pieced border with beaded edge, with an applied tiny sun and moon. His right hand is raised, palm facing. The left hand rests on his left thigh, grasping a garland. His tail and cutaway flowers or drapery stretch to the border in all directions; he wears raised sandals. A small figure above him may be Rama, with a simple seven-headed naga canopy, flanked by birds above. ( Headline height is maximum with nage, diameter 19.8cm.) A fallen foe lies below him on the border. The back of the figure is hollowed out, also typical, and a loop near the top of the back allowed the plaque to be worn on the chest in processions. Dull brass colour, little wear.
