Round with a shallow flaring base and flange on which to place a lid.
Lacquered red inside and out and decorated on the outside with 3 bands of green, red, yellow and gilded thayo work. The middle band a chain of rosettes dividing the wider top and bottom bands of intermittant scrolling.

A Burmese red lacquered cylindrical box (missing its cover) embellished with foliate and floral moulded thayo decoration inlaid with glass relief. probably 19th century.
