Costume doll representing a man of the writer caste. Unidentified armature and stuffing covered with cotton fabric. Dressed in red and white striped silk paijama, and a yellow satin angarkha trimmed with crimped metal strip and silver gota. Undershirt of bright purple silk with bright green floral design. Waist wrapped with a triangular cloth of turquoise cotton net, trimmed with silver-gilt gota. Turban of coiled green silk and silver gota with red felted wool top embellished with sequins, small metal cups (katori) and crimped metal strip. Shaggy hair of black cotton thread. Green wool shoes with upturned toes. Holding a large flower made silver-gilt gota and sequins. Face with embroidered eyes, eyebrows, mustache and mouth. Remains of adhesive on forehead and earring possibly indicating missing jewellery. Fingers tipped with red cloth.
