Object history
Transferred from the India Museum in 1879. India Museum Slip book entry 3125: 'Satin Cotton Back / Mushroo / Benares / 55 / Original nos. 50 / Striped of various colors, waved[?] pattern interlaced with Silver / Poch Runga [pach-rangaa meaning 'of five colours']'. Swatches from the original textile appear in John Forbes Watson's Second Series of The Textile Manufactures of India (1874), no.442.
