Border fragment of satin-faced silk cotton mixed fabric, in the form of a ribbon embroidered in coloured silks and gold thread with a continuous scrolling flower-and-leaf pattern in fine chain-stitch.

Colours: Black ground; scrolling stem in green and white, leaves (fern-like) yellow outlined with green, other leaves (lobed) white. Flowerheads in (1) red, pink, purple and white, (2) yellow and orange, (3) red and purple, (4) two shades of blue. Gold spangles, each outlined by several rows of gold thread embroidery, are repeated in groups of three or intervals along the stem.
